An opportunity exists for a non-invasive cardiologist or specialist internal physician with non-invasive cardiac training to assist those in Botswana with heart disease, whilst also being able to enjoy the Botswana (Southern Africa) wildlife and the well known Okavango Delta. Nothing beats the outdoor lifestyle of Botswana!

The post is available with immediate effect. The successful candidate will be part of a growing cardiometabolic unit, with a patient database of over 17,000. The work will largely be non-invasive but with the ultimate intention being incorporated into a larger cardiovascular institute. Travel within Botswana is to be expected given the expansion that the facility is currently undergoing. Research in conjunction with various World bodies and pharmaceutical companies and involvement with community outreach work for the Heart Foundation Botswana is also anticipated.

The salary will commensurate with the level of experience and in keeping with the qualifications.

The following requirements are a pre-requisite:

• An appropriate under-graduate qualification of an MD or MBCHB/MBBS
• A post-graduate internal medicine degree or equivalent
• A post-graduate internal medicine experience of a minimum of two years
• Further training in cardiovascular medicine or membership to the appropriate accreditation board for sub-specialty in cardiovascular medicine

• Certified copies of the relevant qualifications (under-graduate and post-graduate)
• Full curriculum vitae
• Certified copies of registration with the appropriate health professions council in the relevant countries
• Two listed referees for the applicant.
